Yes, I use the greenish aquarium hose for my Little Torch. It is thestuff normally used to connect the air bubbler pump to the aquarium.I bought a roll on sale at my local pet store for a less than fivedollars because the box was damaged. I used the fittings from adried-out and broken Smith hose, and bound the junction with thebarbs with binding wire, and covered the binding with electricaltape. In the five or six years the hoses have been in use, there isno indication of hardening, the usual problem with the incorrecthose. This simple siphon device will make water changes one step easier than previous methods. Just use your present hose from Python style water changer, remove the gravel cleaning tube and attach hose to hose fitting. Set intake tube to desired height, and walk away to do something else without worrying about when to stop siphoning. Fits on all standard glass aquariums 5 thru 180 gallons. With a Powerhead it will pump through your existing Faucet Pump (Python) device with the faucet shut off. (Faucet Pumps can waste large amounts of water to generate enough suction to drain tanks which are at an equal or lower level as the faucet. Stop sending costly additional water down the drain just to drain some water from your aquarium). Or use as gravity drain (without powerhead) to a lower position than the tank you’re draining. Yes, this is a very simple device that you can make yourself from standard PVC fittings, and we will even give you the plans if you’d like to, but it is priced it low enough for it to be just as easy to get one from us. Plus you’ll get the right fitting hose barb, and powerhead adapter, and siphon starter bulb. When you are ready to re-fill the tank just unplug the powerhead (if using) and turn on the water faucet and fill through the drain tube back into tank. No need to hold the hose from falling out of the aquarium. JSSSP is a very handy tool for those with larger Aquariums. Doing big water changes is now a few minute chore instead of an hour of labor. Yes, aquarium hose will work fine for your torch, if your torch hashose barbs for connections. Some torches have a screw-on fittings, threaded one way for gas, one way for oxygen, and a few have hosebarbs, like the Hoke torch. The welding supply stores carry a heavyred and green (threaded ) hose that will work for jeweler's torches, but I find them way too heavy and inflexible to be practical in thestudio. On the other hand, the plastic hoses I use are readilyavailable in a good hardware store, and in many diameters and sold bythe foot. It's pretty inexpensive, too. If you go this route, I'dadvise miniature hose clamps on your hose barbs, on both ends of thehoses. Take your torch into the store with you to check the hoses'fit. If your torch has screw-type fittings, I think you'll be lookingfor manufactured hoses designed for that application. Those heavy redand green hoses from welding supply stores will work, but I'm notsuch a big fan. Smith carries those cute red and green cloth coveredhoses which they make for their torches, which you can buy…in the side of an aquarium or a flow-through opening in a wet/dry filter. Includes: suction screen, slip bulkhead with nut and gasket, and 90° elbow with hose barb. Slip means PVC Solvent Socket-Type Fittings. Size Hole Dia. 1/2" 1-1/8" 3/4" 1-1/2" 1" 1-3/4"
