"The Zero Water Exchange System is designed to eliminate the fish's dependency on water changes in maintaining a safe, healthy aquarium environment. This system consists of an advanced combination system of reversed flow undergravel filter, biologic towers, a hang-on-back power filter, and additives to provide a biologically active, clean environment for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums."The Python Water Changer, No Spill, Clean and Fill System was created by Lance Reyniers, a lifelong aquarist, who just like myself hated doing the weekly water changes.Anyone who changes water in a fish room with hoses and buckets dreams of automating water changes. I wanted one for years, and when I moved the fish room to its current building two years ago I finally installed one…. and it is a real game changer. If it were not for the water changer, I would not have enough time in a day to maintain all the aquariums that I have. An automated system is well worth the effort to install, and they are not very expensive. The hardest part is drilling all the tanks, but there are ways to do it without drilling. My fish room is divided into two areas. The main section contains 176 aquariums that are connected to an automated water changing system. The other 52 aquariums are not connected to the water changer. The Python aquarium maintenance system, on the other hand, offers quite similar cleaning process of the aquarium. Remember that you do need to keep on changing the water, it can be vital to keep the fish in a healthy environment. This model promises no cases of spills where you would normally have to manually drain the aquarium with buckets only to end up with a lot of mess.Automatic Water Change In Marine/Reef Aquariums:
As is known, the most basic and important action to take in maintaining an aquarium is to change about 20 percent of water on a regular basis.
In this system, the user is responsible for filling the water container and placing it in the cabinet. The entire water change process is coordinated by the control system which displays instructions to the user. Once the filled container is inserted, the system automatically transfers the fresh water into a separate mixing tank where salt is added into the water in order to salinate it. At the same time, water from the aquarium is pumped into the container that had originally been filled with fresh water, while the saline water is pumped into the aquarium. When the process is complete, the user is responsible for removing the “old” water and disposing of it.
