It is the male betta fish's job to swiftly capture the eggs in its mouth and place the eggs securely into the bubble nest.
If you have already started the with your Betta fish, your eggs may have hatched after being cared for by the male. If you arrived at this stage of the process successfully, what you are about to encounter next is the care of the so they can grow into beautiful and healthy Bettas.
Betta Splendens are egg layers. The male fish builds a bubblenest and the eggs are placed there until they hatch. Then after 2-3 days the eggs hatch. At this point the fry swim vertical. In the next couple days the fry will begin to swim horizontal when they absorb their yolk sacs. At this point the male needs to be removed and the fry need to be fed immediately.

Betta fish are popular pets and are known for their distinct coloration and elaborate displays. Originally from Asia, wild Betta fish live in slow moving rivers and shallow rice paddies. They are often aggressive and males must be kept alone as they will fight to the death in proximity with other Betta males. Mating is the only occasion in which two Betta fish can be kept in the same tankâand only temporarily. After extracting eggs from the female, the two must again be separated as males may become violent. Bettas do not give live birth. The female produces eggs which are then extracted and cared for by the male in a bubble nest of his making.Move the female betta to the male's tank or move the two fish together to a third tank. Place them in such as way that they can see one another but cannot touch. Some people use hurricane lamp glass placed inside a tank, with the female in the hurricane glass so the two can see one another until it's time for a safe introduction. When the fish are introduced, the male will lead the female over to the bubble nest and begin the act of fertilization. The male wraps his body around the female and hold that position for a time, squeezing the eggs out of her body. After the "hug," the male will chase the female away -- or the female will make her escape -- and begin to herd the eggs toward the bubble nest. The male will tend to the nest until the eggs hatch and the fry are ready to live on their own. this is a bubble nest of betta fish and eggs inside. Become my Friend on Facebook, I hardly have any: The that are bred by most hobbyists are bubblenest breeders. In preparation for spawning, the male betta fish will construct a floating bubblenest, often of immense size. When completed, the male will entice the female to swim underneath the bubblenest. Embraced by the male, the female will release her eggs, which are fertilized by the male. As the eggs fall to the bottom of the aquarium, the male scoops them up and place them inside the bubblenest. A few days later, small betta fish fry will be observed swimming near the surface of the water.
