An X-ray image of grooved razorfish (Centriscus scutatus). Razorfish are encased in thin, transparent bony plates attached to their spines, which you can see in the X-ray. Also known as shrimpfish, razorfish have a unique swimming style: they keep their bodies vertical (heads down, tails up) while propelling themselves forward in schools. Note that the back of the fish is bony and nearly straight; all of its fins are on its belly.
Single-molecule RNA FISH assays can be performed in simplex or , and can be used as a follow-up experiment to , or imaged simultaneously with a assay. The technology has potential applications in , , analysis, and .

Here we have 2 nice Vintage Fish Images! Shown above are 2 engraved images from an early Natural History book. The fish at the top of the page is a Herring and the one at the bottom of the page is a Pilchard. These aren’t actually Father’s Day Graphics per say, but I thought they would make a fun Vintage Handmade Card for a Dad who likes fishing! These would be great to color in with watercolor pencils, markers, ink etc. I hope you can use these in your Handmade Projects! The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Digital Library is a searchable collection of selected images, historical artifacts, audio clips, publications, and video, most of which are in the public domain. Those not in the public domain are intended for personal, private use. This chimaera, or ghost fish, was observed around 1853 meters, while exploring an unnamed seamount within the Phoenix Islands Protected Area. These fish are distant relatives of sharks and have skeletons made out of cartilage. Firstly, the traditional -means clustering segmentation algorithm has been improved for fish images. The best number of clusters is determined by the number of gray histogram peaks, and the cluster centers data is filtered by comparing the mean with the threshold decided by Otsu. Secondly, the opening and closing operations of mathematical morphology are used to get the contour of the fish body. The experimental results show that the algorithm realized the separation between the fish image and the background in the condition of complex backgrounds. Compared with Otsu and other segmentation algorithms, our algorithm is more accurate and stable.
