How To Clean A Fish Tank Without Chemicals | My Aquarium Club
In this video I am going to show you how I clean my tank and prepare it for my male betta fish
How to clean a fish tank is a question that many beginners ask when they first get an aquarium. I have had a fish tank ever since I was a small child. Back in the day my parents used to do the cleaning of my aquarium, but as I got older I had to learn to do it myself. If you don’t know what you are doing, as I learned the hard way, you will cause some serious damage to the ecosystem and to the fish themselves. There is a certain process that needs to be followed in order to safely clean your fish tank.
The tank gets ugly, scum forms everywhere in it, and the fish die. It can be very frustrating for the aquarist. This is where I come in. During my years working for Pet Zone, I convinced many would be aquarium quitters not to give up. I just gave them some simple advice on fish and aquarium care and maintenance, and whattaya know? Things turned out alright. So here I am again, passing my fish care knowledge onto others. The format is a little different, but the advice is the same. In the section below I will give you step by step instructions on how to clean an aquarium using zero chemicals. This whole process, by the way, need only be done once a month. That is unless you have predatory fish that you are feeding live foods to. In that case, this should be done every two to three weeks.

All Rights Reserved. It was time to clean a couple pieces of aquarium equimpment so I thought I'd shoot a video on how to use vinegar to clean saltwater fish tank equipment. This video is really geared towards the beginner aquarium owner. Using distilled white vinegar I clean off coralline algae off of my MP40 pump. I used 100% vinegar dip or vinegar bath to do the job. It only took about 18 hours to completely remove the coralline algae and make the pump look like new. Enjoy.
