Long Fin Red Minor Serpae Tetra schooling fish for 55gal
The serpa tetras made a nice addition to the tank. Its fun and interesting to watch all the fish interact.
The Longfin Serpae Tetra are a tropical freshwater fish, known for its red body colouring & distinctive black mark next to its eye. #AquariumIndustries #Tetra
Serpae Tetra's are a great fish however, they are fin nippers and are not so good with smaller fish. I have five of them in with a Bala Shark and a Pleco. They are great together. They like variety in their diet as well as ornamental hiding places along with lots of plants. They are hardy, they will survive lower temperatures and slow fluctuations in PH levels. From: Anne
Red Minor Serpae Tetra - Aquarium Fish
Just my two cents on the great fish known as Serpae Tetra
The Serpae Tetra is one of the more colorful tetras that sometimes gets a bad reputation for being a fin nipper. This behavior is usually brought on because the Serpae Tetra is not being kept in schools of 6 or more. Provided that you have the room for a small school of these fish, the Serpaes can make a good addition to a community tank. These fish truly are amazing when they show off their full orange coloration. I have 5 of these tetras in my 10 gallon tank. They share the tank with 4 dwarf aquatic frogs. Its a perfect relationship. The serpaes like the top of the tank and the frogs like the bottom. Whenever a fish or frog dies, I just go to the petstore, buy a new one and within minutes, the new addition is readily accepted by everyone. Serpae tetras are easy to keep and fun to watch. They are always lively and are racing around the tank. The frogs just sit and watch. I would recommend serpaes to anyone because of their bright orange coloration and their lively personality.Serpae tetra - A beautiful, small fish for the freshwater aquarium. I have 2 of these guys. They are very pretty together. I hope to get more and have a school of them.Hi, my name is andrea, I have 13 fish in all in my 35 gallon tank.
